Kitchen Remodel Before and After
During this complete kitchen remodel, we gutted the exiting kitchen, and replaced everything from the floor to the ceiling. We replaced and added additional cabinets and granite counter tops, which made the kitchen space larger, a new sink and faucet, installation of recessed lighting, wood floors and brand new, stainless steel appliances.
The end result is a bright, modern kitchen that is ready for cooking and entertaining.
Deck with Attached Awning
As you can see from the before picture, this deck was in serious disrepair. Several of the floor joists had come loose from the hangers. After going back and forth to the drawing board, we were able to come up with a design that both suited the usability of the new deck and fit the budget.
Kitchen Counter & Cabinets
When this remodeling project started, the owners knew that the first thing they wanted to do was to get more light into the kitchen. The house was located on a lake in Chesterfield County with a great view from the dining room onto the deck and out to the lake. This meant the wall separating the kitchen and the dining room had to go. After sorting out some structural issues and adding a few engineered beams and floor supports, the owners had a great view of the lake.
Bathroom Shower & Tub Removal
This bathroom remodel started out with a jetted tub. Apart from the tub, the owners did not know what to do with the rest of the space or how to fit it all into the existing room. The biggest design issue was a wall that was at a 30 degree angle at the entrance of the bathroom. With a laundry list of wants, we set out to provide a master bathroom that you could get lost in.
Kitchen & Bath Addition
This house located in Richmond’s Fan district was typical of the era with small bedrooms, small bathrooms, and a kitchen that couldn’t hold more than two people at a time. The first part of this project (not pictured) was to remove the main load-bearing wall on the first floor of the house. The house was roughly 40 feet wide, and we remove over half of that distance.
Sometimes when you think about upgrading a kitchen the simplest things can have the biggest impact. In this project in Chester, Virginia, we decided to leave the nice built-in cabinets that were in great shape. We installed a new luxury vinyl floor tile, new granite tops, and a back splash with a few nice accents. Sometimes cheaper is better.
